Topics of discussion were good reports of the State of Iowa with Kosovo and Peja city. The twinning process between city of Johnston and Peja is expected to be finalized soon and will positively impact on the approach of the two peoples and their cooperation in the areas of important as agrobusiness and tourism as important pillars in the economic development of Peja.
The Mayor Berisha said that the most successful story of newest Koosva history is the formation of the KSF, in which development has played a very important role the Iowa National Guard and the proof of this success was the parade on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of Independence.
We Institutions of Peja and its citizens are very grateful to your country and you as a promoter of our cooperation processes which will lead to the finalization of the twinning between Peja and City of Jonstton, Iowa, USA.
Our city besides training and consulting, also needs investments that affect the economic development of the country but also in reducing unemployment amongst other said Mayor Berisha.
My own position here and my participation in the anniversary of independence of Kosovo is the greatest respect to me, but also shows the importance of our cooperation. I have been the main supporter and booster of cooperation process between Kosovo and Iowa and Johnston with Peja, these processes are important to the economic development of your country, said among other Gen. Timothy Orr.
At the end Mayor Berisha communicated to Gen.Orr that he and the Municipality of Peja institutions decided to honor him “Honorary Citizen of Peja” on June 16, 2013, on the day of liberation of Peja city.
